ABOUT SONOMA WINE COUNTRY

Located about an hour north of San Francisco, the Sonoma Valley is best known for its wine.  The Valley offers a varied landscape and you're transformed into one of the most beautiful wine-making regions in the world. Follow 17 miles of country roads that connect the sleepy hamlet of Kenwood to the Carneros appellation and you'll find more than 40 boutique wineries, most small and family owned.  Many are tucked amid oak forests and wildflower meadows.  Abundant hiking trails offer views of the town of Sonoma as well as through two amazing local state parks.  Popular excursions are biking to local vineyards, strolling to the town square to enjoy over 20 local tasting rooms, followed by a picnic in the park. In addition, the craggy Pacific coastline and the majestic redwoods of Armstrong Redwoods State Park are only a scenic hour and a half long drive.
